Meerkerk Gardens is the ultimate place for kids to experience and learn about the wonders of nature during the summer. The Gardens are a 53-acre woodland oasis under a canopy of majestic trees. There are 2-plus miles of nature trails, three ponds filled with frogs and newts, and an abundance of other wildlife, including woodpeckers, owls and rabbits.
Children also can wander the Gardens and look for hidden surprises while participating in Meerkerk’s
Scavenger Hunt. Meerkerk remains beautiful in the summer and is a comfortable, cool place for outdoor exploring. You can enjoy the magnificent palette of nature while drawing a picture or sitting with friends and family at one of the picnic tables in our events area. This open grass field features a beautiful view of Holmes Harbor and Baby Island and is a great place for kids to stretch their legs or relax in the grass in a peaceful setting.
Meerkerk Gardens has multiple events per year that appeal to children. We’re starting our own pumpkin patch this summer in preparation of Octoberfest on October 7. This family event will include live music, food and kids’ activities.
Meerkerk Gardens is a 53-acre, non-profit woodland garden located at 3531 Meerkerk Lane in Greenbank. The Gardens are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day of the year. Adult admission is $5.
