The Soup Box Derby is back! The wackiest, weirdest, most entertaining road race on the island, and a Langley tradition since 1972, will be held on Sunday, September 17th. Racer check-in is at 8:00 AM, and the races start at 10:00 AM sharp.
Registration is now officially open. Racers can pick up the rules and application forms at the Langley Chamber of Commerce, or request by email: soupboxderby@whidbey.com.
And if you're not into careening down the hill in a gravity-powered vehicle, then your best spot is along the Zippy Raceway (behind the hay bales please!) to see the crazy cars and fierce grudge matches up close.
