WINTER BREAK CAMPS IN STEM, ART AND SPANISH
FOR CHILDREN AGE 5-12
Whidbey Island Language, Art & STEM Center (WILASC) is a new learning center
located in Langley, with satellite classes on school campuses in Clinton and
Coupeville. For the winter break 2023, we are offering several camps for children
aged 5-12:
- CHRISTMAS ART & CRAFT (Dec 18-21 or Dec 18-22) at Whidbey Island
Waldorf School: In this week-long camp of holly jolly fun, children will explore
their creativity while making festive holiday crafts. They will learn how to make
Christmas ornaments, create holiday cards, make a Christmas themed book,
experiment with textile art, and much more. Ages 5-10.

- INTRO TO STEM WONDERS (Dec 18-21 or Dec 18-22) at South Whidbey
Community Center: STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and
Math. In this exciting week-long STEM camp, students are engaged in hands-
on learning experiences that foster a passion for STEM subjects, encouraging
creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork. Each day students will explore one
discipline: science experiment, coding and robotics, engineering, and space
science. Age 6-12.

- SPANISH CAMP (Dec 18-21) at Coupeville High School: Embark on a four-
day adventure filled with language learning cultural exploration as we dive into
the rich tapestry of Latine American Christmas traditions! Our immersive
camp, designed for kids aged 6-12, promises an exciting blend of instruction
in the Spanish language, hands-on crafts, festive games, vibrant art projects,
and a delightful journey through the diverse culinary delights of Central and
South America during Christmas and New Year. Age 6-12.

ABOUT WILASC: Whidbey Island Language, Art & STEM Center (WILASC) was
founded in 2023 with the mission to providing a space for children and adults to
explore their interests and develop new skills in languages, STEM and the arts. Our
programs are diverse in nature, but all are guided by the same criteria: to nurture
students’ intellectual curiosity, develop their critical thinking skills and a global
